Eleven GMS members took the stroll up through the Squeezer Creek Valley to lower Squeezer Lake. From the lower lake it is a nice scramble up 700 feet to the upper Squeezer Lake. Swan Peak's summit is about another 2,000 feet of steep Class 2 and 3 climbing. All made the summit and were treated to nice weather but smoky skies. Views of the Missions to the west were not the best. We returned to the upper lake where a few climbers tried their hand at catching the elusive cutthroat trout. I believe a few may have been taken home to be grilled in a pan. One climber's GPS indicated that this is a 5,900-foot total elevation gain in about 16 miles.
