The weather was perfect for the trip to Shangri-La Lake. We left the Swiftcurrent Pass Trail just before the first creek, worked our way to the ridge crest and to the base of the cliffs. There was a trail though the cliffs. Only one spot had any real exposure. Then we followed the creek up to the lake. We had lunch at the lake then went to the top of the ridge and enjoyed the views of Iceberg Lake and the surrounding peaks. After a quick ski down the scree slopes, we stood on icebergs on the lake. The Iceberg Lake trail back to the parking lot was as bad as 5 o'clock traffic in Kalispell. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
