McPartland didn't happen I was expecting McPartland to take twelve hours on a good day. I arrived in Glacier the day before and decided to try the McDonald creek crossing. The water was almost a foot deeper than when I tried last year. Hip deep, got swept away and went for a little swim. So had to change the plans and cross at the horse bridge which adds four miles and two hours to the trip. Monday morning woke to a light sprinkle. Met the crew and car pooled to the trail head. By then it was a full rain. We decided the rain would slow us down enough that making the summit was unlikely. We went back to my camp and had some coffee. By 8am the rain was letting up . We decided to save the day by doing Siyeh and Cracker. It was the perfect choice. We had two long time members, myself and Rodney, and two brand new members Mike from from Alberta and Katrin from Switzerland. The weather turned nice and we summited Siyeh a little after 1pm. But when we looked down at the route over to Cracker we found a grizzly sow with two cubs, cutting us off from a peek Rodney and I both wanted. Oh well that one is going to have to wait for another day .
