Write Up:
It was a glorious day for a climb. The group met at the Cave Mountain trailhead west of Choteau and hiked the 6 miles or so to Route Creek Pass. From there we headed east up the ridge. The long ridge gains elevation easily and eventually bends to the north. We descended into a saddle and climbed to a false summit of Teton Peak that is south of the actual summit. Another descent to a saddle brought us to the real fun climb of the south ridge to the summit. There were plenty of route finding possibilities on the ridge. In short order we were enjoying a wonderful relaxing time on top with great views of the Bob Marshall Wilderness to the west and the Rocky Mountain Front to the east. Participants included Ralph Thornton, Coordinator, Greg Kusnak, Tim Horan, Ginger Flesch, Doug Thorsen and Louis Hatch.
