The plan was to go directly from Dry Fork Creek to the saddle above Lonely Lakes, and descend to the lakes from there. Discovering the saddle to be plugged with snow, the group decided to make a detour by climbing an extra 400 feet to the ridge that forms the far northwestern branch of Spot Mountain. Upon reaching the other side of the saddle, Lonely Lakes came into view directly below, providing a very beautiful sight. Since the extra climbing consumed a fair bit of time, it was decided not to descend all the way to the lakes. The general consensus was, “we gotta come back to visit those lakes!” A very pretty hike with lots of flowers and waterfalls, and a wonderful joyous group. Pictured in group photo, L to R: Greg Kushnak, Jim Valentine, Jane Holland, Ginger Flesch, Pat Keane-Richmond, Nancy Thompson, Charlotte Jansson, Bruce Gillis, Susie Ruffatto, Dave Edic, Carolyn Remmel, Ian MacCallum, & Jane Hunt.
