Since the bugs were out, we wasted no time in heading up the trail. Snow still covered portions of the route to Cobalt Lake. Some took the trail all the way to Chief Lodgepole and some just hiked straight up the ridge. It took a lot longer to get from the summit of Chief Lodgepole to the summit of Grizzly, but by 2:30 we had all made it. Since it was a cloudless day, the 360 degree views were great. We were all back to the parking lot by 7:30. A long, hot day, but everyone agreed it was worth the effort. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
