Nobody showed up. That left Denise and I alone to explore something new in the Teton River area. Since getting a dog 9 years ago this area has been a regular haunt for us and we have summited just about every high point and explored most valleys, with few exceptions. One of the exceptions is the ridge line that is just north of the trail leading to Our Lake. The east end of the ridge has some impressive pinnacles. We left the trail at the switchback at tree line, below the water fall coming from the lake. After gaining the ridge we found ourselves cliffed out by the pinnacles in either direction. Not being equipped for technical climbing this day we decided to spend a couple of hours watching the thunderstorms build from the east. We made it back to the car in time to avoid getting wet and plummeled by hail. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
