Write Up:
The weather seemed fine when we left the parking lot, but soon we began to notice occasional drops of rain. The sun was out when we took a snack break just above Old Man Lake; however, once we reached Pitamakan Pass, we had to put on our rain gear. The wind picked up and by the time we reached the shoulder of Mount Morgan, it was blowing hard and raining. We sat under a ledge until the worst of the rain passed. We reached the chockstone and gulley leading to the summit. Once inside the gulley we decided it was too windy and the rocks were too wet to safely proceed. It was disappointing to turn around 300' from the summit, but safety was the most important factor. This is one of the nicest trails in the park, so going back will won't be a chore.
