We set out on a beautiful morning to climb Siyeh. The views were great and the wildflowers put on a show in the Preston Park area. The weather stayed cool on the way up, then we were rewarded with sunshine and warmth at the summit. One highlight while at the summit was to watch four grizzlies digging for Cutworm larva. There was a sow with two cubs and another single bear that romped around on the snow field not far below the summit. The view down to Cracker Lake, four thousand feet away is dramatic, as another climber vividly expressed as he looked over the edge from the top. A member of our crew, Rishi, was brand new to GMS and on his first climb. It was great to have him along and wish him all the best as he heads back to school soon.
