Write Up:
We hoped to reach the summit via the North Side Diagonal - Grand Traverse route. That was J. Gordon Edwards’ favorite on Reynolds. Just as we reached the steep couloir that would take up to the southwest ridge and the start of the diagonal it began to rain. Not wanting to try that route in a downpour we headed for the saddle between Reynolds and the Dragon’s Tail to wait things out. The rain soon stopped and we climbed the SW Talus route. The climb up the talus can be really crappy if you know what I mean. But Jim Boyer lead the way and avoided most of the really loose stuff. Thanks Jim for that! By the time we reached the cliffs the rocks had dried nicely and the rest of the climb was fun. While it was cloudy the views were still as magnificent as ever. More rain threatened on the descent but it held off until we were relaxing in the parking lot.
