Write Up:
We changed this event because the GTTS road hadn't opened on the east side yet. Instead we went on a traverse from Lubec TH to Two Medicine. This time we started by climbing Red Crow and traversed over to Desanto Pass. There we split the group with the very capable Pete Metzmaker, Steve Dagger, Robin Young and guest Robert Denison climbing up Bearhead and back down across the deep saddle to Mt. Ellsworth and finishing with the long traverse over Appistoki Peak and down to Two Medicine. Jeremy Rossman like a fool followed me and we climbed up the divide west of Desanto Pass to the first little summit. We got a little better view of the terrain along the divide toward Grizzly Mt. Then we backtracked to Desanto Pass and descended across Buttercup Park and traveled around Neverlaughs West side until we reached the Aster point trail and back to Two Medicine. We had good conditions, but both groups found the trip to be long and tiring.We were able to meet up and refuel in East Glacier which makes this an even better classic trip. Jack Beard
