Write Up:
Three days of backcountry fun for the annual RMF car camp and peak bag weekend. On Friday Denise, Dean and I did a half day hike up a narrow canyon. A 20 minute hike up the Route Creek Pass trail gets you to the first dry creek bed. It takes another 90 minutes to get to the delightful saddle at the top of the canyon, just below the summit of Cave Mtn. There is a lot of bang for the hiking buck on this trip which is highly recommended for late arrivals to the Cave Mtn. camp ground. Saturday was just about as good of a mountain day as one can have in June. Temps in the low 60's, light breeze, white puffy clouds and clear views. Alice Ford, Jer Lundgren, Denise Davies, Dennis Bonawitz, Mike and Sally Russell, Carly Putnam, Jed Hohf, Dean Stensland, Denise and Joe Grabowski summited Ear Mtn. On Sunday Denise G', Dean and I attempted a point to point Teton Peak trip. Weather was coming in out of the east in the morning so we decided to hike to Route Creek pass first and gage the weather. About a mile beyond the pass the weather came in the form of snow forcing a retreat. Great weekend and thanks to the entire group for a good time.
