The weather was near-perfect the day we set out to climb Henkel and Crowfeet. On Henkel's ascent a little bit of smoke blew in from recent park fires to the south, but soon afterwards the sky cleared up nicely. The group overall was very fit, Henkel was summited around noon, with plenty of time for lunch while viewing nearby Kennedy Lake and Mount Wilbur. Everything went according to plan, and the group lingered at Crowfeet's summit while enjoying views of Mount Merritt, Old Sun Glacier, and the backside of Chief Mountain with a recent dusting of snow. On the grueling descent towards Ptarmigan Lake, there was one tricky cliff band near the end, but Kim Davis skillfully guided us through the opening. According to GPS: 11.8 miles, 4956 ft elevation total. Climb list: Kim Davis, Britt Lindsay, Erika Morck, Tim Morck, Craig Parmalee, Steve Patitsas, Doug Thorsen.
