Altyn Peak is the substitute for Razoreadge due to trail closure for the Thomas Creek fire. It was a smoky day in the park. The plan was Mount Allen but did not want to do this one due to the smoke and lack of visibility for a great view. We had a great time, saw goats, one black bear in the far distance, and some birds. Altyn Peak (7947 feet) we hiked 5.3 miles and over 3120 feet of elevation gain.
