Deja vu for John Reynolds and me, Sunday July 19 and Siyeh #2. Ten climbers gathered with 8 attempting their first 10,000 foot peak in Glacier. We were joined at a sunny trail head by Colin Cummings, Craig Pamelee, Robin Young, Jeff Crump, Scott Pomeroy, Clair DeHaan, Keegan Siebenaier and Ginia Hauf. As was the Saturday crew this group was able and enthusiastic. John took the lead via the south face approach winding through the two class 3 cliff bands. Everyone was up for the challenge and our unofficial leader Keegan provided energy for the entire group. At age 15 he is the youngest climber I have had on a GMS trip and was a kick. At the 9,500 foot level we encountered three grizzlies scouring the rocks for moths as we had seen Saturday. The summit was warm and photo opportunities exceptional. The trip back to Siyeh Bend was filled with conversation about the upcoming week's climbs. Gail's cowboy caviar salsa was enjoyed by all.
