Sat, Oct 10 2015 - Loneman Lookout (View Original Event Details)

Coordinator(s): John Oliver Ellis
Participants:John Oliver Ellis, Terri, Pattie Wacker, Paul Erler, Kim Stoltz, Anne D., Pat Keane-Richmond, Susie Ruffatto, Charlotte Jansson

Write Up:
With record dry weather this summer, the Middle Fork and Nyak Creek were easy fords. We followed the river, then bushwhacked to the abandoned Ranger Station. From there the trail to the summit of Loneman was a long gradual trip that wound around the mountain. This is a trail built for horses. This area burned a while back, so the new larch growth is only about 10 feet tall. It was close to gold, with a slight greenish hue. The way back was quick even though we had to walk around a stopped train to get back to the cars.

Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you.
