Write Up:
We headed down to the Mission Mountains looking for golden larch. There was plenty everywhere except at Crescent and Heart Lake. One of our goals was to find Island Lake which sits above Heart Lake. We found the trail. It is not maintained and has sections of blowdown, but can be followed. We came close, but time limits prevented our following it all the way to Island Lake. Regardless, it was a perfect day to be out wandering in the Mission Mountains.
