Excellent weather for early June. On Friday Denise and I did the short but spectacular hike up what I call Cave Canyon. It is the first drainage on the Route Creek Pass trail about 20 minutes from the trailhead and makes for a great option if one is looking for a half day hike from the Cave Mtn. CG. On Saturday Anne Dellwo, Felicia Ennis, Denise Grabowski, Lou Herritt, Brenda Winkler, Bruce Lieffring, Mark Pearson and I climbed Teton Peak. We hiked up the South Fork of Waldron creek to just below the small lake (now dry). We gained the ridge to the south and followed that to the crest of the Sawtooth Range and then to the summit. We continued on to Route Creek Pass and then hiked back to the CG. Denise and I agreed on the drive home that Teton Peak is our favorite trip in that area. On Sunday Brenda and Bruce hiked the trail to the summit of Mt. Wright and enjoyed a great wildflower display while Anne, Felicia, Denise and I climber Wind Mtn. It was an awesome RMF weekend with a great group of GMS'ers. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com.
