Write Up:
This hike gave us a different perspective of the peaks around Lake McDonald as it passed through meadows and forest on the north side of Camus Creek. We never saw Rogers Lake, but Rogers Meadow was beautiful. The water in Camus Creek was too high to ford, so we turned around before reaching Trout Lake. Best of all, the weather never turned to rain. A large bear was on the trail as we returned, but ambled off without paying much attention to our group. A worthwhile hike in a little visited area.
