Write Up:
Week prior to hike and climb weather did not look to be very favorable. Wednesday before the event the forecast called for 60% chance of Showers with afternoon thunderstorms and cloudy and cold. Well should I cancel or not. Thursday this changed to 50%. Friday to 40%. I called NOAA for help. I was told it will be partly sunny with afternoon showers and thunderstorms. I emailed the group we are going. I woke up to the sound of quarter size hail stone pounding my house and thunderstorms. I soon passed and picked up Doug at the Flying J and proceeded to trailhead. I hit an isolated shower on the way. Sky opened up and clear and the sun came out when we got to Bynum. Four old men met up in Bynum and off to the trailhead. We could not have had a perfect day. Not one drop of rain and lots of sun, and cool temperatures. Wind was light. Thanks for a great team of hikers/climbers with the patience for the old man of the bunch as we climb The Old Man of the Hill mountain. Summit picture (Left to Right) David Schuler, Doug Thorsen, Britt Lindsey, and Jason Wilkes. It was a long day and you felt like an old man when we got back.
