This climb began with a 3.5 mile walk on the Cracker Lake trail which was in good shape. The next phase , led by Brenda and Bruce, involved a bushwhack up the side of Canyon Creek. Eventually, the terrain opened up and we found ourselves in a boulder field, so we traversed into the center of the rock valley. From there is was just a straight walk to the summit. Low down was stable rock, then loose rock and broken cliffs and finally sold rock again. Great 360 views of the whole area. The scree ski down was very quick. Our only error on the way out was veering too far right and ending at Cracker Creek below the bridge. Except for Dennis, who miraculously hopped across Cracker Creek without falling in, the rest of us walked back up the creek to the safer bridge alternative.
