The trail starts gaining elevation from the beginning and keeps doing so, until reaching the pass below Krinklehorn. We took a break there before dropping down to the bench where the scramble begins. The four hundred foot scramble up to the shoulder of Krinklehorn begins on boulders but is mainly on loose rock and dirt. The remaining 400' to the summit is much easier, following a climber's trail. The weather cooperated and we enjoyed nice views of the Whitefish Range from the summit. A nice trail and fun scramble recommended for GMS members looking to avoid the crowds of GNP.
