Six Glacier Mountaineering folks and one guest enjoyed the day climbing to the top of the cliffs and the ridge opposite the parking lot at Logan Pass. The route took us up though a class three couloir to the east of Logan Pass followed by a traverse to the west so that we could look down on the visitor center area. We then climbed ledges and scree to the high point of the ridge for an extended lunch break. The views were spectacular. Total vertical for the climb was 1700+ feet. Mileage was only four miles, mostly very steep. All agreed it was a great way spend a relaxed day and do some climbing in Glacier. Those participating were Bjorn Beer (1st GMS climb), Rick Murphy, Pat Keane-Richmond, Tim Anderson, Judy Tintzman, Terry Tintzman (Guest) and Darrel Coverdell (Coordinator). Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
