Our group of four headed into the Bob knowing full well that the weather wasn't going to be the greatest. Our hike into high camp was dry and the rain held off until after dinner and a campfire. Lucky so far! An all night rain and a raging wind dampened our summit prospects for the next morning, but daybreak brought clearing skies and hope. The reality of how windy it really was set in upon breaking out of the timber and gaining the saddle below the summit ridge, where we were greeted with a snow squall and 70+ mph gusts. It was a no-go. In spite of the lack of summit success, we had a great time in a beautiful slice of the Bob. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
