Write Up:

Despite the rain and new snow from the previous day, seven hardy souls showed up at the trailhead. Braving uncertain weather, we headed up the Scenic Point trail to about elevation 6180, just before the big switchback and then headed up the Appistoki Creek valley. Weaving between snowfields on the left side of the lower falls, we then crossed to the creek to ascend the cliffs on the right side of the upper falls to reach the upper basin. Despite the weather, we met up with two other parties at the saddle. The melting new snow made for wet black lichen on the sloping rocks en route to the false and then the true summit of Appistoki.

Returning to the saddle, we then followed the ridge towards Henry, gaining another 1,000 feet through new snow and ice blown on the side of the rocks. The clouds lifted a bit higher for nice views including Flinsch with a dusting of new snow and more over the divide. Despite a few spits of graupel and a bit of rain, the persistent winds blew most of the precipitation away. We found various ways down from Henry through some cliffs that were not too wet and then followed the ridge over to Medicine. From there, we descended the steep slopes towards Scenic Point, and at the saddle went back up just a bit to about 7,400 and found a nice goat trail that took us across the slopes to rejoin the Scenic Point trail.
