Write Up:
A group of nine met in Hungry Horse and carpooled to the base of the Great Northern Mountain in the Great Bear Wilderness. Although there was smoke from area forest fires, the views were still great from this great mountain at the footsteps to the Bob Marshall Wilderness. The initial steep uphill was pale in comparison to the subsequent trip down on our return.The total was approximately 8 miles roundtrip and 5,000 feet in elevation gain.
