Write Up:
We set off from the Loop under very cool and cloudy conditions. Being the beginning of August we were thankful for shade on the ascent. It stayed overcast and windy along the Highline trail to Ahern Pass. At the big turn before Ahern Drift be encountered a young Grizzly on the trail. Unsure if he was with Mom and considering the strong winds in our face we debated continuing. We ran into Patti, Kim, and Terrie also on their way to the pass. We grouped up and made our way on trail making lots of noise. At the Pass, the original 3 of up continued up to the Peak. The overcast conditions persisted but was still a very enjoyable day.
