The Divide Mountain climb is short but steep, its a constant grunt to the top. We elected for a late start at 9am and took our time with lots of breaks and still reached the summit before noon. We did have a couple problems, the climbers trail from the parking area described is very steep and loose, one member of our party slipped off the trail and got a few scraps bumping down a gully for a few feet. Anyone attempting this should consider leaving the trail and going in to the trees, it is much safer. Also the dirt/rock road to the parking area was quite washed out, its a rough drive which apparently loosened the lug nuts on one members car to the point his tire fell off just as we reach the highway on the way out. But other than that it was a wonderful fun day. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
