A group of five started across Two Dog Flats and made our way up to the official summit of Singleshot Mountain on a day with threatening skies. The unofficial (higher) summit and official summit are really not connected so with pre-trip advice from Ralph Thornton and good route finding skills from Laurel Vielle and Colin Cummings, the summit was achieved with Cindy Weaver casting the deciding vote to press on despite some storm clouds moving in. Our descent down the back side into the Wild Creek Basin and around Napi Rock made for a great day on this impressive mountain. Having helmets proved fortuitous during a hail storm as did somehow missing the sow grizzly and cub that was stopping traffic on Two Dogs Flat on our return to our vehicles. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
