Coordinator(s): Ken Fielder
Participants:James Hulvat, Christine Sowa, Greg Kushnak, Ken Fielder

Write Up:
A congenial group of four, Greg Kushnak, Christine Sowa, James Hulvat and myself, fortified ourselves with food and caffeine at the Park Café. Our main topic of discussion was the weather. As we left the café, it was sprinkling, but we could see the summit of Divide, so decided to head on up. As we left the vehicles and started up the ridge, conditions were deteriorating, but the summit was never obscured, so we continued up. Greg and James were in better condition, so we decided to continue up in two groups and regroup at the old fire lookout. On the ridge crest, a brisk wind and spitting snow caused us to put on every layer of clothing we'd brought. All the peaks at the head of St. Mary valley were obscured by dramatic clouds. Once at the lookout, we huddled out of the wind for a quick lunch. Christine decided not to continue on, and I hung back with her while James and Greg continued on to the summit, where they reported approx. 4 inches of fresh snow. We slipped and slid down the muddy climber's trail off the ridge and back to the vehicles. Another invigorating adventure in Glacier Park!
