A fun group of GMS members headed up the trail from the Two Medicine Lake boatdock parking area. We enjoyed a nice hike on the two medicine Trai, over Chief Lodgepole and then out the ridge to Painted Teepee. We made out way up to the balanced rock and seceral members then climbed up the east face to the summit. The rest of us found an easier and more comfortable route on the west face. Colin set up a rope belay and to assist 4 of us up to the summit and then safely down. We all enjoyed lunch around the balance rock and then we made our way back the ridge towards Chief Lodgepole. We opted for the fun scree ride from the ridge down to Cobalt Lake. We split up into several small groups and took turns riding the scree to keep everyone safe from rockfall. the hike back to the vehicles was punctuated with photo shots of gorgeous wildflowers.
