We started early, had a pleasant walk through the woods to the base of Shangrila, climbed through the rocks and then followed the stream to the lake. After an early lunch at the lake we climbed up to the ridge over Iceberg Lake. As we started down we were surprised to see no people on the beach at Iceberg Lake. The trail to Iceberg Lake (and Ptarmigan Tunnel) had been closed mid-morning that day because of several bears near the trail. A park ranger was waiting at the lake – her job was to escort us out on the closed Iceberg Lake trail. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
