Participants:John Oliver Ellis, Bill Haring, Charlotte Jansson, Jane Hunt, Allison McCarthy

Write Up:
The weather was cool and misty when the 5 of us started out. We had heard that there might be some dangerous creek crossings on the trail. The first one was an easy rock hop and the second one had a large log that had been notched by the Forest Service; however, the third and final crossing was too tricky for everyone to feel comfortable about. So three of our group returned to their warm and dry cars. Two of us made this last crossing and ascended the final mile and a half, the last 1/3 of which was on snow, to North Hemlock Lake. The Lake was frozen. Instead of returning the way we came, we completed the 12 mile loop that goes by Hemlock Lake. We were wet, but completed what I advertised as an exploratory hike. A trip that should be taken by all in good weather.
