12.7 miles 7:48 hours 3,970 feet elevation gain Successful Summit of Skeleton. We set out to climb Skeleton via a ridge walk along the mummy. Left Lubec parking lot at 8:35 am, hiked the trail to the CTD trail, then headed towards Firebrand pass before shortly angling up through open meadows toward the west end of Calf Robe. We reached the pass between Calf Robe and the Mummy’s head. The winds were fierce (60mph gusts) on both sides of the ridge line so we decended into the basin and headed directly toward the east end of Skeleton. We crossed a beautiful stream, then ascended the east ridge to the top of Skeleton. After lunch we head out on the ridge towards Summit Mountain, descended to the toe of a small tarn in the basin and hiked along the base of the Mummy back to the saddle. To get out of the wind quickly we descended directly to the CDT, then hiked east to the Lubec trail intersection, then out to the trailhead. Ending at about 4:20pm.
