Smoky day in Glacier National Park with forest fires all around us in a far distance. It started to clear up some as the weak cold front push through the park in the afternoon. The climb was supposed to include two other peaks, but the park rangers closed Mount Henkel due to bear activity, so we just climbed the one peak Mount Apikuni (9068 feet). It was a little over a 4000-foot elevation gain, just over 7 miles round trip. Glacier Mountaineering Society climbers: Cynthia Weaver, Dennis Eaves, Michael Contrada, and David Schuler.
