Originally planning to climb Medicine, Bison, and The Head, neither the weather nor snow conditions cooperated. Rain was forecast for an hour after we started; however, the rain held off until the afternoon. We had nice views on the way up to point 7,643 (following a friendly Ptarmigan) where we planned to evaluate the snow conditions towards Medicine and Bison. At the point the clouds descended, and we never did get another view in that direction. So, we went for Scenic Point instead. Returning to 7,643 with no better view of the snow or our routes, we decided to just head down the trail. That proved to be a wise decision as we shortly heard thunder overhead. Then the rains came in soaking us thoroughly before we returned to the vehicles. Still, it was a lovely early season hike.
