Most of the time for ascending Grizzly is the 8 miles of trail to Two Medicine Pass which does include the added benefit of summiting Chief Lodgepole Peak. As is so common along the Two Medicine Pass ridge, the winds were howling on the way up. After leaving the pass, we headed close to the ridge on various goat trails until making our way through relatively easy upper cliffs. Despite the clouds the rain held off, views were wonderful, and the wind even died down a bit for the descent.
The trip took us a bit less than 10 hours with 18.5 miles and a total of about 4,900’ of elevation gain.
