Although the forecast called for either rain or thunderstorms, it wasn't raining at 8:00 am so we started up the trail. We successfully negotiated the woods and the talus slopes to gain the summit ridge; however, the sprinkles turned to wind and rain. We stopped briefly to put on our rain suits, then walked the broad ridge to the summit of Otokomi. It was apparent that a trip to the top of East Flattop and Singleshot was best left for another day. Due to the wet talus, we had to go slow on the way down. Worth going back to on a sunny day. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
