Write Up:
Six hikers traversed Floral Park starting at Logan Pass and ending at Lake McDonald Lodge. They covered the 19 miles in 9 1/2 hours, gaining over 4000 ft and losing over 7000 ft in elevation. The day was overcast with mild, cool winds and intermittent sun, but the cloud cover never obscured the views. However, the threat of rain made the group maintain a quick, steady pace and as they returned to their cars the thunderstorm broke. Perfect timing by a strong, enthusiastic group that included Rob Bates, Mike Contrada, Jessica Longenecker, Ryker McIntyre, Mary Notess, and Frank Wesolovski.
