Such a fun day, I had never been up this mountain before. I will be leading this one again in the future.

The day started with a 5 mile hike from Swiftcurrent picnic area to Grinnell Glacier, always a great hike in itself in-spite of the crowds. Crossing the outlet of the glaciers melt lake its a mile and half along solid rock platforms to reach the saddle at the back side of Angel Wing. Another half mile of steep grassy slopes brings you to the summit.

The wind was blowing hard at the summit so we didn't hang around long, dropping down a little we hunkered down inside a Krumholtz to escape the winds and had a some lunch.

On the way back we passed our friend, Glacier Park Naturalist Bob Schuster, leading a group of visitors to the glacier (as he has been doing for over 50 years). We had just seen Bob the night before at our Spaghetti Potluck.

Returning to the picnic area we sat down to beverages and finished of two bags of corn chips and two jars of salsa.
