Write Up:
This event was rescheduled from early June due to flood damage to the access road into Teton Canyon. Our trip took us up the Jones Creek valley bottom where evidence of the flooding was clear. New channels were carved through the gravel and debris piles were scattered about. We took a side canyon up to the pass between Guthrie and the unnamed peak to the north and ascended the NE shoulder to the summit ridge. From there it is an interesting scramble to the true summit. We then made our way along the east base of the peak to another pass between Guthrie and Choteau Mtn. and descended good game trails back down to Jones Creek. We had steady rain Friday night and dodged what appeared to be impending rain showers to the immediate west of us during our outing. A great day with GMS'ers Dell and Gail Meuchel, Peg Holwick, Jenny Freudenberg, Laurel Vielle, Adam McClure and Joe Grabowski. On Sunday Laurel, Gail, Dell and I took the easy trail up to Mt. Wright. The trail ascends 3,200' in four miles. At 8,875' the expansive Mt. Wright dominates it's neighbors and affords a great view of the west face of the Front Range peaks and the high peaks in the middle of the Bob. One can see as far as Divide Mtn., which appears as though it comes up straight out of the plains, Great Northern and the high peaks of the Swan Range. This is a great short day for tired legs.

Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you.
