We had a interesting time working our way up this trail to Granite Lake. You have to cross Granite Creek 4 times before reaching the lake. We missed the first ford, but found a good log. Great log for second crossing. Third crossing not well marked so we waded across a little above the marked spot. Last crossing pretty obvious. We sat on the logs and enjoyed the views. Saw only 5 other people, no bugs, but lots of brush. Trip back was quicker since we knew where to cross. This lake, in the same area as Leigh Lake, is less dramatic and longer to reach, but a nice day hike. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
