Write Up:
After fording McDonald Creek, we made our way through the deep cedar woods with plenty of Monotropa uniflora springing up through the duff. We then bushwhacked uphill steeply for a few thousand feet to get to the beautiful basin to the west of Vaught. From there, we climbed to the ridge and then the peak for some fantastic views. We took a slightly different descent route and ended the day at about 8-9 miles and 5,500’ gain.
