Write Up:
A combined GMS and Over the Hill Gang group including Gregory Barkus, Michael Contrada and Dennis Eaves (co-coordinators), Joshua Eaves, Lloyd Jones, Norma Linsky, Denis Twohig, and Steve Watters set out to do the Grand Tour route to the summit of Reynolds. We had a beautiful day for a climb. Dennis, Joshua, and Denis had to turn back early so the rest continued up the couloir, across the goat trail, down the scree path and around to the southwestern talus slope for the final ascent of the peak. Everyone found the scree path after the goat trail the trickiest part. We took our time picking our way up and down the rocky ledge to the top. After a relaxing lunch and dramatic views, we ascended the southwestern slope to the hiker’s trail around Reynolds and returned to Logan Pass a very happy crew.
