Tue, Aug 25 2020 - Bishops Cap and Pollock (View Original Event Details)

Coordinator(s): George Scherman
Participants:George Scherman, Kim Davis, Don Arthur

Write Up:
Kim Davis, Don Arthur, George Scherman. Left the lunch Creek pull out around 8am. Clear skies low winds. Wind increased as the day progressed, but never became a problem. We ascended the gully at the center of upper Lunch Creek which was free of snow. continued to scramble toward the Piegan/Pollock saddle then traversed left to reach the cleft in the upper cliffs of Pollock which we climbed without difficulty. On our descent of the north ridge toward Bishops Cap we dropped down to the west, but on the return we found a better trail closer to the ridge itself. The route on BC was well cairned. and did not require any belays. It looks like there is a trail on the west side of Pollock that could be used from Lunch Creek to do BC without climbing Pollock/ the southern terminus of the trail looks to be cairned on the ridge extending south of Pollock toward Logan Pass.
