Write Up:
I almost didn't get to go, two days before this event I had my second covid shot. It hit me hard on Friday week, dizzy, chills, sweats. I made arrangements for a member to take over as coordinator, but 12 hours after symptoms started they suddenly ended and I was fine, felt great in the morning.

Since the snow melt seems to be early the last few times I did this, I decided to try it a week earlier than usual. As a result the gate was still closed at Lake McDonald so we had a longer bike trip this year 13 miles each way. Even so, everyone made it to the loop in two hours or less.

Weather mostly cooperated, warm and sunny for most of the trip up. Clouded up about the time we reached the chalet and some winds kicked in so everyone had to bundle up for lunch. Did not freeze overnight so the snow was about as soft as I have seen it. Snowshoes had problems getting a bite, at time coming down some of the steeper parts it felt more like telemarking than snowshoeing.
