A beautiful change in plans. Several GMS members, as well as close friends and family members decided to make a trip back up Chaffin Creek to Sugarloaf Peak for some needed closure from Bryan Kercher's passing. It was quite emotional as we approached the "rock" where we comforted Bryan as his life passed. We were able to find a few treasured items of Bryan's from the climb. His hat and cell phone brought many of us to tears. Stories were told and we laughed with funny memories. I won't mention the names of our group in respect for their privacy. A small carin was built as the afternoon drifted away. Our return to the trailhead was bitter sweet. We had said goodbye to a dear friend. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
