The two coordinators, Cindy Weaver and Michael Contrada, were joined by seven other hikers for a long but sunny day climbing both Triple Divide Peak and Norris Mountain. David Archibald, Steve Domiter, Bekah Nicholson (guest of Cindy), Lisa Owens, April Seubert, Sue Shannon, and Jason Wilkes departed from the Ranger Station since the road to the Cut Bank trailhead was closed. After the long trek up the Triple Divide Pass trail, we started off-trail before reaching the Pass to make our way to the south ridge leading to Triple Divide Peak. After resting to take in the views, we set off across the connecting saddle to Norris, ascending the ridge until we got to the summit block, just below the summit. We started our scramble taking our time to find ways everyone was comfortable with. It wasn’t long before we reached the summit and enjoyed lunch. When it was time to leave, Jason showed us a different way down right at the nose of the summit. Before long, we were headed back to the Triple Divide ridge where we first came up, rejoined the Triple Divide Pass trail, and then, pleasantly exhausted, reached our cars. We enjoyed refreshments to end the day and congratulated Steve for completing his first outing, and first scramble, with GMS. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
