With 4-6" of fresh snow covering harder, old drifts, the last mile or two were an interesting transition from spring to winter. With a poor weather forecast, our group dropped from 12 to 4. Lots of fresh snow on the trail and trees made for a beautiful winter scene with hoarfrost on the trees along the ridge. We just post-holed through the snow instead of using snowshoes. The clouds cleared before we got to the summit and had marvelous views of freshly snow covered peaks in all directions. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
