Write Up:
We took the Lee Ridge trail to Gable Pass and then headed northeast along the ridge towards Papoose. Scouting for a route on the south side, we found one that definitely did not work. Retreating to the southwest ridge, we ascended a few steep cliffs and chimneys to gain the summit. We then descended the same way, traversed on the south and east side of Papoose to get to Ninaki. We hoped to find an easier route than the 2017 GMS group. Unfortunately, that ramp on the east side was the only option we found, and two wisely decided not to go for the full summit. On the way back down the trail, we cut across some beautiful meadows to shorten the distance to the Lee Ridge trail.
